The Grand 24 HOUR Play-Fest!

Here’s how it works: Over 45 people will sign up to be writers, directors, actors, film-makers and stage crew. The night before the show, a theme is picked at random and the writers have 12 hours to write a 5-10 page script. Writers also receive instructions on number of characters and gender. In the morning, scripts are randomly assigned to teams made of 1 director and 2-3 actors. A technical team works with the director to create simple lighting and sound effects, gather props and costumes and coordinate makeup and hair. Meanwhile a film crew is documenting and editing footage of all the behind the scenes action. The teams workshop the scripts all day in preparation for a live performance onstage!

Valley Playwrights showcase their work with Festival

Inspiracy Arts is ecstatic to announce the 2nd Annual Central Valley Playwright’s Festival! We will present four new one-act plays written and performed by local artists. This production will explore the corners of the human mind and many strange characters along the way. The Central Valley Playwright’s Festival will kick off March 10th and will run for a total of 8 performances through March 20th 2011 at the beautiful new St. Clair Theater in Downtown Modesto, California.

Auditions for The Central Valley Playwright’s Festival

24 hour Play-Fest: Patterson Rep vs. Westside Players

(Newman, CA) – Inspiracy Arts, Patterson Repertory Theater and The Westside Players will team up to produce a “24 hour Play-Fest” at the Westside Theater on Saturday May 8th. This feat of Theatrical Olympics will include 6 original short plays written, rehearsed and fully produced within a 24 hour period. The entire creative process from the writing stage to the rehearsals leading up to the live performance at the Westside Theatre will be filmed and edited into a mini-documentary to be shown prior the live performances.

Auditions for Rasputin: The Musical! March 1st 4-9 pm @ The Modesto Library

Be a part of Inspiracy Arts’ very first full-length production, Rasputin: The Musical. This original comedy features singing dancing, and sock puppets. The production is set to debut at the Little Opera Hall on May 27th and we are currently casting talent. Performers of all skill levels are welcome to take part in this brand-new show! Come show us what you’ve got at the open audition on march 1st 2010@ The Modesto Library (1500 “I” Street) 4-9 pm. Be prepared for a cold read of the script and a to sing us a song of your choice. There will be no accompanist, so be ready to sing a cappella or bring your own background music in CD Format.
