Inspiracy Arts

About

Inspiracy Arts is dedicated to inspiring, promoting, publishing, and producing new works of performing and media arts. We provide an opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents and create an environment of mutual support between the arts and social causes.

Past Activities:

As a corporation, we have produced multiple theatrical events with the assistance of our Fiscal Sponsor, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization known as Rio Arts. These events included The Central Valley Playwrights Festival, which premiered five new short plays written and performed by local artists. The festival included performances at three different venues throughout our region and in each community that we visited a portion of the ticket sales were donated to a local charity.

The first venue that our festival appeared in was the Modesto Jr. College Recital Hall in Modesto, CA on June 18-20 2009 and our local charity was Community Hospice. The second venue of the festival tour was Jacob Meyers Park in Riverbank, California on June 28th 2009 and the local charity was Rio Arts. The third and final venue of our festival tour was the Westside Theatre of Newman, CA on July 10-11 2009 and the charity was Friends for Sophia’s Dog Park. All of the benefactors of our festival were 501(c)3 tax-exempt organizations. At the end of the festival, we were able to donate the following amounts to charity: $110 to Community Hospice of Modesto, CA; $110 to Friends for Sophia’s Dog Park of Newman, California; and $50 to Rio Arts of Riverbank, CA.

The rental fees and other costs associated with the festival were paid for by a combination of ticket sales and donations from local businesses. In exchange for their tax-deductible donation, each business received an ad (varying in size depending on the amount donated) in the production’s playbill and also on our website.

Our most recent theatrical event was called 24 hour Play-Fest: Behind the Scenes and it took place on November 7th 2009 at the State Theatre of Modesto, CA. This event included five short plays written, produced and performed within a 24 hour period of time and a mini-documentary of the entire creative process. The production was financed through a combination of ticket sales and donations from local businesses in exchange for ad space in the playbill and on our website.

Present Activities:

Currently we are planning the premiere of our first full-length production, titled: Rasputin: The Musical. This production is set to debut at the Prospect Theater in Modesto, CA in May of 2010. This will be a collaborative effort between Inspiracy Arts Inc. and The Prospect Theater Project, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. The production costs involved with this project will be covered by ticket sales and playbill ads sold to local businesses.

Future Activities:

We plan to become a nationally touring theater troupe presenting new works of performance art. Eventually we would like to be able to pay our crew and performers a fair wage for their time. These goals will be financed through a combination of ticket sales, donations from businesses and individuals, and grants.
